Good Day Readers, Today in Part – 4 of this Chapter we will Discuss “How is NLP Used in a Manipulation Scheme? “

This is “Part 1” of the Topic.

So how can NLP be used against a subject as part of some manipulation scheme employing dark psychology? Well, if we all know individually that we can have an impact on ourselves through language and redirecting the brain, those who have some knowledge in psychology also realize the significance of this phenomenon.

The Impact of language and the accumulation of that language coming from several different individuals can have a huge impact on the mindset of the target. This is why phenomenon like peer pressure and groupthink have been established as clear indications of the social aspect of human beings’ process of forming opinions and ideas about others and their experiences.

Groupthink is the phenomenon where a group of people working together might be influenced by each other to a large degree in a way that shuts down the creativity and innovation that comes from individual thought processing. 

An individual is pulled into the group’s opinions and thought processes instead of feeling the freedom to innovate and come up with individual creative idea because of freedom to innovate and come up with individual creative ideas because of a mix of psychological factors, such as peer pressure and not wanting to stick out or be different from the crowd. 

As the Ideas fly around in the form of words and shared thoughts, this process becomes solidified as the brain does not make room for anything other than the information being thrown at it by other people. In this way, the potential for an innovative idea that comes from a single creative mind might be squashed under the weight of the collective thought and creation process, leading to lots of missed opportunities.

 A similar phenomenon occurs when a single target is focused by those aiming to utilize NLP in order to sway the target is focused by those aiming to utilize NLP in order to sway the target’s mind in a particular direction.

The intentions and motivations behind these actions might vary from simply wanting to form a negative opinion of someone else in the target to trying to cause the target to take a harmful action toward another target.

Factors such as being in a position of authority or power can have an endeavors, and they are not always conscious endeavors on the part of the manipulators. A prime example is the high school environment.

Most of us probably remember the days when what the popular kids said about you had a bit of impact on how other peers thought about you. If you were one of those popular kids, then you might remember how your opinions and statements about other people tended to carry a lot more weight than the words of someone who was less popular. 

It doesn’t even matter how much evidence there was to support the claims or opinions of people; it was simply a matter of disseminating information mixed with some other influential factor, in this case, popularity.

When a person with some kind of influential power speaks, people are more willing and primed to listen and form opinions in line with what they are hearing. And the more this gets reinforced, the stronger the influential factor. 

Gossip can be a strong manipulation tool in that people tend to be drawn toward many aspects of Gossip. Gossip between peers within some kind of organization structure, like high school, makes those involved feel like they are included in something bigger than themselves, while the targets are not.

It is a form of pushing others down while you boost yourself up. Sometimes, especially as a teenager, this can feel like a survival mechanism that is just absolutely necessary to your existence in school.

No one wants to be the odd one out, or the one everyone is gossiping about. Therefore, it pays to be part of the gossip itself while it is targeting someone else. If it is hurting someone else, that means it’s not hurting you.

Now, these things might not be the conscious flow of thought coming from your average teenager, but there are psychological underpinnings to all high school behavior that do not have to be consciously enacted to be effective and predictable.
